2015 Great Backyard Bird Count February 14th

by admin on January 11, 2015

The Department of Environmental Protection’s Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park would like to invite the public to join our staff and volunteers Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 8:00 until noon in the annual Great Backyard Bird Count. We will be counting all species seen and heard throughout the Lake Overstreet property and trails. We will hope to see some of the following: Golden- crowned Kinglet, Winter Wren, Dark-eyed Junco, Brown Creeper and Bald Eagle to name a few. At noon we will gather to tally the count at the trail head. Bring your sweetheart and or the whole family.

eBird was released in 2002 but took its current form in 2005. The eBird that we all know and love will be ten years old in 2015. We hear from hundreds of people each year who tell us how eBird has changed their birding habits for the better, has taught them about bird occurrence in their area and on their travels, has helped them learn birds, and has made their birding more fun. Create an eBird account to record your observations during the 2015 Great Backyard Bird Count!
