What a wonderful way to begin the holiday season as you stroll the candle lit brick walk while sipping hot cider and hearing the Christmas carols and music provided by local friends of the Park. This year we will be hosting our 28th Camellia Christmas at Maclay Gardens State Park on Friday, December 2nd. Please join us between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m. for this traditional holiday evening of music, candlelight, lovely fresh holiday décor, hot cider and cookies while creating a wonderful memory for you, your family and friends. There will be a collection of lovely wreaths and other holiday gifts donated by local businesses at the silent auction tent for your bidding. Santa will make his annual appearance at the front pavilion at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free on Friday evening with donations welcomed.

If the evening should put you in the mood to do your own fresh greenery decorations, then plan to join our staff for a morning class and create your own Christmas centerpiece to take home for the holidays. You can call the Ranger Station for information and to sign up for the class at (850) 487-4556. The cost is $25.00 and all materials are furnished. The class will take place on December 9th from 10:00 a.m. until noon in the Greenhouse.

The historic Maclay House will be open to the public for the weekend following Camellia Christmas from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. for those who are unable to join in the fun Friday evening. Fresh greenery arrangements will be displayed throughout the house created by our local Garden Club Flower Show judges. The house tour is free with paid park admission on Saturday and Sunday, December 3rd and 4th.
